In order to address the trolling and spamming we have been subjected to on the board, we have decided to trial implementing user groups to try and combat the problem.
As existing members you may have noticed that you now have "Registered User" under your usernames in the forum. This doesn't affect your posting ability and you may carry on as you have been.
New registrations however, will be subject to the new system. All new registrants will have to have their accounts approved before they can post.
Once they have been approved they will be moved to the "Newbie" user group. As a newbie, their posts will (currently) have to be approved so please bear with us if it takes time for new members posts to appear.
We will not be censoring new members posts. We will however be checking that their posts do not contravene the forum rules. Once we are satisfied that they are here to participate and not merely to cause friction in an otherwise harmonious board, they will be 'upgraded' to "Registered Users" and able to post normally.
NB: Please note, that this system will also apply to previous members who have deleted their accounts and re-registered merely for the sake of consistency.
Our apologies if it seems we are turning this board into a police state but we believe that, long-term, it has the potential to make the forum more pleasant for all members so please be patient. It may be proven an unworkable solution, in which case we will rethink the strategy.
Thank you for your co-operation. __________________ *Shell's Big Sis*
